AIBC Labs™

From AI pilots to enterprise direction

Sprint scenario

Clara is Head of Corporate Communications at a leading Nordic bank. The CEO has asked her to help answer a question that has become increasingly difficult to ignore:

Where are we really in our AI transformation?

AI initiatives are underway across the bank, but progress is fragmented between business units. Different teams are experimenting, investing and building capabilities at different speeds — making it difficult to see what those activities add up to at enterprise level.

The timing matters. The CEO has promised the board an assessment of the bank's current AI maturity and a clearer direction for what should happen next.

And the challenge is widespread: in 2026, 64% of CEOs said their companies pursue AI pilots, while only 26% said AI was embedded in a broader business transformation.

Meet Clara

Clara is one of the fictional archetypes in the
AI Business Council, representing a Head of Corporate Communications at a Nordic commercial bank. Her challenge provides the starting point for this AIBC Lab sprint.

The challenge

Turn fragmented AI activity into a clear picture of enterprise maturity

Establish the real state

Starting with Clara's corporate communications perspective, we use AI to broaden the view across the bank — combining the available picture of business-unit initiatives with external intelligence on AI adoption, Nordic banking, regulation, customer expectations and enterprise transformation.

We structure the insights across a common set of maturity dimensions to distinguish isolated activity from capabilities that are genuinely becoming embedded across the organization.

The result is a shared starting point: where is the bank progressing, where is maturity uneven, and where are the most important gaps?

Find what is getting stuck

We stress-test the maturity picture across different parts of the organization. Where do strategy, technology, governance, capabilities and ways of working reinforce each other — and where do they disconnect?

AI simulations help explore how different stakeholders could experience the transformation, while behavioral lenses such as DISC expose different responses to pace, uncertainty, governance and change.

Rather than producing another maturity score, the objective is to identify what is preventing individual initiatives from becoming enterprise capability.

Build the board case

The findings are brought together in an AI Transformation map, showing where the bank stands today, which gaps matter most and what needs to connect for AI to move from fragmented initiatives toward enterprise-wide value.

The evidence is translated into a small number of strategic priorities and a practical roadmap — giving the CEO a clearer basis for the board discussion and the organization a direction for what happens next.
